Music Program

The music program exists to lead the congregation in worship. Our ministry is to praise God, to lift up Christ and to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit into worship services. We sing, ring and play instruments to accompany hymns, present anthems and other service music and play preludes, offertories and postludes.
The Chancel Choir sings during the Traditional Worship Service at 11:00 AM on Sundays.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir sings most Sundays between September and July. We take part in the annual Candlelight Concert just before Christmas, and the Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday evening services. We welcome anyone with the desire to praise God through singing. It is not necessary to read music, though it helps. We rehearse Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM in the music room.

Alleluia Ringers
Magnolia Presbyterian Church is blessed to own five octaves of Whitechapel English Handbells. We use the handbells to accompany hymns, to accompany the Chancel Choir, and to present instrumental music. We ring in worship about once each month. The Alleluia Ringers rehearse on Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM.

Instrumentalists
We often use woodwind, bass, string and percussion instruments in worship. Players of all ages are invited to join us. Please contact James Walters if you would like to connect!

Mission Outreach Program

Peru Mission Work
Magnolia has sponsored three mission trips to the rural villages in the Canta Valley outside of Lima, Peru over the last 6 years. A fourth trip is in the planning stages for 2010-11. We work in partnership with the NEWMA/AMEN Project, a church planting ministry founded by Obed and Cynthia Alvarez. Let us know if you are interested in connecting with us in an international mission project.
